Blogging or Submitting Events

Thanks for your interest in contributing Events or Items to the Activist Agenda newsletter. All contributions will be edited and/or reviewed by Michael Kalmanovitch before appearing on greenEdmonton.ca or in the emailed version of the newsletter. Michael reserves the right to refuse contributions at his discretion.

  8. Thank you for being part of greenEdmonton.ca

3. Events vs Items

An event is something that happens on one or more dates. An example would be "Zoomanical Day, 12:01 am, April 1st, at the Alberta Legislature".

An Item is an informational piece. An example would be a "Volunteer Opportunity" or "Action" (see the Activist Agenda for examples).

November 14, Saturday, 2009 @ 11:45 am: Voice for Animals Humane Society Rodeo Protest

Bullying is bullying—regardless of species! This is the message that Voice for Animals Humane Society will be sending loud and clear to the Canadian Finals Rodeo which continues to bully and brutalize animals for money, particularly in the violent practice of calf roping. This sadistic brutality has absolutely no place in a civilized society! Please don’t stay silent when others are violent; come and support Voice for Animals Humane Society’s demand for a ban on calf roping.

Posting an item to the activist agenda is very complicated. Is there no way to streamline the process?

girls_can: I don't have the time to do the programming. Sorry. It's a bit complicated to get approved, but once you are I find it simple enough to add an event.

ATTENTION: EDMONTON

Hello, we are Sheldon Berg and Regis LeBlanc, owners of a small family furnace company here in Edmonton called Global Home Energy. We are licensed, registered and insured and have been in the business for almost 20 years as journeymen master gas fitters in Alberta.

Just letting you know that if you ever have any questions, concerns or problems with your furnaces, hot water tanks, humidifiers, air filters, air conditioners or the smell of dust in your home and just need service men you can trust, we are not far away and please don’t hesitate to call us at 780-686-3828 or visit us online at www.GHE1233.com.

Also, we are currently offering furnace cleaning and 99 point safety inspections for just $69.99 plus gst for this month. It is recommended that you have your furnace cleaned and tested annually. This special will ensure that your furnace parts, circuits and controls are at optimum performance and you are not wasting expensive gas money; it will also prolong the life of your furnace, motors, gas valves, and other parts. During this job we will inspect things like belts, thermocouples, pulley alignment, operating temperatures, carbon monoxide, natural gas levels, humidifiers, gas fireplaces, hot water tanks, air filters etc… It will take us 1.5 hours to clean and fine tune your furnace. Most companies only wipe down your furnace without performing any tests. We will leave you with a full 99 point written report on system performance and safety.

These are just some of the reasons to use Global Home Energy:

• We are a locally owned and operated small family business.
• We have fewer expenses and less overhead so our prices can stay lower than the competitions prices.
• We spend more time on the quality of every job rather than quantity like larger companies that work quickly to get more jobs done.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Sheldon and Regis
